Organisational Affiliation: affiliated with the vice presidency of the university.

The General Objective:  managing and operating information technology security solutions, ensuring the sustainability and integrity of the information technology system at the university, and protecting the privacy of data and associated information.

Mission:

• Preparing plans for the unit's activities and following up on their implementation after approval.
• Preparing and developing information security policies and other procedures and reviewing them consistently.
• Supervising the preparation of programs and projects for developing information security solutions at the university by best practices and standards, identifying the needs.
• Designing, developing and documenting the information security structure for the technical environment of the university's primary and supporting activities.
• Ensuring adequate controls and policies of the National Cybersecurity Authority about information security and cybersecurity.
• Conduct periodic tests to ensure the functioning and efficiency of protection systems and programs.
• Expressing opinions on the programs and applications that the university aims to secure in terms of security.
• Coordinating with the National Cybersecurity Authority in all information security and cybersecurity matters.
• Notify the beneficiaries about viruses and security vulnerabilities.
• Fix security vulnerabilities, assess the level of exposure in the main servers, and address them.
• Supervising the preparation of awareness and educational programs in information security and cyber security and presenting them to beneficiaries at the university.
•   Defining performance indicators for all unit’s activities and developing them continuously after approval.
• Determining the unit's human resources, equipment and materials needs and following up on their provision.
•  Identifying the unit’s staff’s training needs and nominating them for appropriate training programmes.
• Preparing periodic reports on the unit's activities and achievements and suggestions for developing its performance.
•  Any other tasks assigned to it within its competence.
